Finding Your Voice 1.0

Your voice grows as you grow. I was different at every step of this life. Yet, some things won't change. I've always been a rebel with many causes, and it won't stop, just like a hundred times before. My personality and mindset have evolved, but my heart stayed wild and authentic. What I've always been genuinely curious about is my strength now. Who I am as a human being became clear to me. I was born to make you feel something again. I came down here to force you to think deeper again. It's always been confusing what's real.

Finding your voice as a writer is similar. It expands with the years and experiences. You begin with a book of ideas, then one day, you wake up, and every dream you can remember becomes a short story. Daydreaming is part of this job, too. Each moment of creativity counts. A good movie, a great song, or a new company - put it down on paper/type it down on a keyboard. How does it make you feel? Why you?

The stories I write generally focus on survival and unexpected love. No, not that one. No fluffy unicorns and pink farts. They are bloody, passionate, and full of fire, and you are willing to tear yourself apart for that kind of love. My protagonists struggle against reality while learning to find their path. Each scar made me see myself clearer. My characters have actual problems like you and me. The worlds I create are from within. Half of those are unconscious memories. Allies and foes come along just like in this life.

Find things /or people/ that make you want to write! Yes, daily. Read books and scripts, and watch movies! Keep networking with others /even if it seems like a pain in the ass sometimes/! I needed a break from everyone, but it never meant that I was gone for good! I'm a natural-born entertainer and a weird combo of an introverted writer and an extrovert singer. Never boring, baby.

your nomad soul,

Kata The Writer
