Obey Your Crazy

That quote from Jeymes Samuel perfectly sums up how we all went nuts over screenwriting (and other forms of art) last night and dawn. Well, my timezone it began at 7pm and I passed out around 2am. Woke up hyper at 6am (to feed my Australian Sheperd lookalike rescued doggie - Odin) and couldn't stop thinking about the awesome speakers I had a chance to hear. Not to mention today again at 7pm when the #ScreenCraftWritersSummit starts again! Now even more exciting because I have an experience of how epic it was! I mean, people! Sofia Coppola, Colin Trevorrow, Michael Schur, Spike Jonze, Steven Canals, Adam Arkin!

Thank you goes out to those who followed and befriended me on Instagram! I'm eager to listen to your stories! Who are you, where are you from, what is your dream, what is your goal, and what do you write about! I can't wait to meet you again tonight, and to spread the writer spirit wider! Gather your soul-balls, people! I was born ready.

Listening to Derek Haas was pure joy, Joby Harold was humble and his understanding of the 'movie magic' is pretty close to mine! Priya Satiani and Mikhail Nayfeld told us all they could to help us imagine the work on the other side. Emily V.Gordon was hilarious, I think we all wanted to hug her (and pet the cat). Tanya Saracho made it look easy to talk about diversity, yet stayed super duper funny! I enjoyed Day 1 of this Writer's Summit like Grogu did with those baby reptiles in a bubble.

I'm not aware of what fellow writers came here for but I got more than what I was hoping for. Gratitude. Pure creativity. Connections. The energy is so positive! I wish you all good luck within our industry!

To be an artist, to be a filmmaker, to be a screenwriter is not an easy job. It's not for everyone. It requires one hell of a commitment, indeed. This is a life sentence. If you are truly a writer/screenwriter you can never quit. It's impossible. Writers are born, not made. Period.

your soul writer,

Kata The Nomad
