Hopefully, many of you are as lucky as I am to have both their parents still around. It can be heavy at certain times /getting tattooed, cutting a mohawk, wandering abroad alone, not having kids yet, etc./ but mostly it changes after you reached the age line 35 or even went over it /like me, 37/. We become the parents and they happily rumble as the wrinkled little rascals. Tested and true.
My Dad is officially the biggest kid to handle. He got used to being the boss, everything going the way he wants it, everybody serving his plans - then he had me. My Grandpa /his Daddy/ told him that I am like 10 men put in one tiny body. He laughed, then he realized it's true. Now I can see he is trying to mock me and give it back. I accepted the challenge. We are kind of alike: similar strong personality, brave voice, stand by justice, help the weak, dream and write very colorfully, having the most determined will ever, and faith above all.
Today I am giving him the best gift /well, almost/ ever, like a pre-Christmas gift, the cake his Mother used to bake for him, his favorite. It's my first real trial of it /yet, I am a grandmaster of baking/, hunted the perfect recipe for years /promising him that this year I am going to bake it - and not fake it/. Wish me luck to see the happiness on his old cutie-pie face! I am a Daddy's Girl but not that spoiled because I was raised as a soldier - warrior - ninja - rebel. We had our fights but now living on friendly terms.
My sweet Mama is an angel on this planet Earth. All she has ever done was to support my dreams /emotionally, mentally, financially/. She kept saying positive things even at the darkest times, always. She never cared for herself but for me and my little brother. She put everything aside when we needed anything. I am sure I can never repay her. I believe mothers are the true angels and guardians God sent for us to protect and teach.
If you want to find the rock and heart of a family - look at the oldest mother! She knows things for sure. I love and respect all the grandmas, they are the real deal. Hands down.
I don't know yet, where this life is going to take me but what my Mama has taught will always remain. Spirituality and maternity. Creativity and positivity. Art and love. Handcrafted things and decorating. She has always been the greatest role model in lifting up others. She still guides and parents people around her with the most gentle voice and touch which are the mother's superpower only.
I wish you all a fun and full of gratitude Sunday with your Family!
your soul friend,
Kata
