Mondays are the new beginnings. I hope so. Lake Balaton got some strange and dangerous venom in it. I try to fight it but it is indeed poisonous to the skin and all other organs (lungs, heart, stomach, etc). Going to find out what has affected the seaweed (hínár) here at the south shore. I gathered it and threw as much out as I could to be able to walk in for swimming (and rowing). Then I swallowed some water accidentally and now my throat hurts. I have ginger and honey, luckily. Had a crazy headache (1st time in my life so far) last night, assuming because of this unknown venom. Not giving in. Going to fight against it today and figure out the cure. Wish me luck, think I am going to need it.
Other reality stuff. The news is killing me softly. No joke in there. About the Covid-19 (and all its variants) and the vaccines, every country has its own kind of red alert by now, again. 4th wave, they printed out today. Great. Slowly but looks like the virus is getting back. It was "emergency use authorization" how Pfizer and the others got into the business, now waiting for the final authorization. Looks like there are still many people out there who decided to wait a few months more until this whole vaccine thing rolls out. More than 6 months, I believe. Not careless but careful. Trying too hard?
Safety in the Big City Life aka Budapest. I've always been a wanderer, had many crews, walked a thousand streets, yet I believe it's been a while now since our 'Heart of Europe' is acting unsafely. I'm an advocate of homeless women, yet I know perfectly well how many of them behave badly. Abusive, aggressive, dangerous behavior is daily whether you are a male or a female target. Yes, we need to say this out loud. Asking for money is one thing. We all live (eat, drink, dress, sleep) on money. But these homeless people are way too greedy and desperate. The police here do nothing. At least, we are not experiencing any change. I've always been a fighter, so for me, it's easier than for most women (or men). On the other hand, it is NOT NORMAL to walk on the streets, in the underground, ride the bus/tram/train and be AFRAID of these homeless/drunk/drugged people.
Have you ever thought about WHY are they acting like this? When have they gone out of patience? WHY the government does nothing to help them? Most homeless people lost their jobs. Some of them had no addiction before losing every material thing they had. I've always made time to talk to those who were sober and they said nobody is there for them. The places where they can register for 1 night (!) are full before 10am, so usually, they go from one place to the other until the dark falls. Then they sleep wherever they can. Losing their human part happens faster than they have ever thought it is about to happen.
Promise to get back to you with better words next time!

Kata The Nomad
