My Dad had the strongest voice I've ever heard in my whole life. It wasn't always pleasant to be around but you could feel his strength through it. Until he was diagnosed with throat cancer. He slowly lost his voice, it was hard enough to witness how a man lost his natural gift. He underwent a tracheotomy, and his whole larynx was taken out. It did stop cancer from spreading but it also made him numb. He cared for nothing no more.
Now he is 68 (turning 69 in October) years old and that surgery was 4 years ago (now in the 5th year). He seemed to be well in the first three years but 2020's COVID-19 and the double vaccination in 2021 got him. Since this year began, he slowly got worse. His appetite and mood got lower than the lowest lows. His mind was full of depression, his body got tired, and his soul wanted to leave.
What I constantly tried to tell him was that if one misbehaves towards others, then it backfires. If one wants to heal his/her body, then he/she has to start inside. One can't expect it from God or the doctors. My Dad lost his trust in the doctors, so now I'm trying to get him back to God. To help him pray. He still can use his inner voice to talk to God.
Why I decided to write about this personal subject was to help anybody out there struggling with losing his/her voice. You have to stop cursing! You have to stop gossiping! You have to stop hurting people with your voice! Use your natural gift to change this world into a better place! My Dad tried, but he thinks he failed. All he got wrong was this: when you get tired of the life you have to take a break but you can't quit! Nobody can decide about that. God is going to end our lives, but we can't make it quicker.
My Dad had an adamant voice and he could do magic with it. I'm able to still hear that voice instead of the microphone he is using. I've already forgiven him everything because he couldn't do better at that time. He did horrible things but he also created wonders (a writer like me). God punished him by the laws of nature (karma), and I can't help him with that. What I can do is tell him how to move forward daily and how to pray honestly again. God knows everything. You can't trick the Supreme Personality who knows everything. You shouldn't even want to. Play nicely!
