Rays of Sunlight

I thought there is no difference in whether the sun is shining outside or not but this Covid-19 pandemic re-wrote my view on that. There IS a huge difference between the mood I get with the rays of sunlight shining upon my face (or even just upon my window-sill). Now I thank God for every little sign of light He brings into my life.

Mondays were my enemy when I was a teenager like why the hell we must go to school again?! Then years (what years, let's be frank: decades) have passed and I felt I could give a warm welcome to each and every Monday. A fresh start, a new week. Always good to get those. And to get up in the next morning, as a matter of fact.

It yet again amazes me how human life can change at any second. Moods can surely swing daily but the goal of life, the direction we are headed is determined. We have free will, no doubt on that, but where we are going to end up has already been decoded.

My kind of rays: learning, listening, laughing, writing, reading, chanting mantras, serving others, cleansing the heart, encouraging others, enlightening others, practicing what I have learned, traveling, walking outdoors, swimming, meeting new people, asking questions, telling stories and jokes, participating in kirtan, having a deep breath of fresh air.

The list is always longer than what I can write down but it is a perfect glimpse of who I am at this very moment. Not who I want or wish to become. This is who I am right now. A hundred percent.

What are your rays of sunlight? What is your daily happiness and gratitude is about?

Think about it for a minute!

your ever well-wisher friend,

Kata Varga
